We've been contacted by a resident who feels that the raised kerbs that demarcate the border between the cycle lane and pavements on Milton Road are potentially a hazard and that a flatter kerb, or just a painted line, would be much safer. We therefore contacted CamCycle to find out if they agreed this is potentially dangerous for cyclists. They told us that although some of their members had initially thought there might be an issue, after testing the design out in West Cambridge, they had no issues., and no reports of any problems. Indeed, they felt the design was far safer for visually impaired people using the pavement. Please let us know if you've had any issues using the cycle path on Milton Road because of this.
