A GREENER HURST PARK?

Reports of heatwaves, flash floods and forest fires seem to be becoming more and more common, and many of us have been considering what we can do as individuals to reduce our carbon footprints and mitigate the effects of the climate emergency. We've noticed that more electric charging points and solar panels are springing up around the neighbourhood, but we've been wondering if there's more we could do as a community. For example, would it be useful for us to provide a platform to share information and tips? Should we push for on-street charging points, or negotiate advantageous group rates for solar panel installations? Could we try to encourage more tree and shrub planting to provide more shade and more biodiversity? Please let us know what you think. Have you made any changes to your own homes in the past couple of years? Are you considering any now, and if so, what are you planning to do? Would you find it useful to hear about others' experience of, for example, replacing a petrol car with an electric one, or installing solar panels? We look forward to hearing from you.
