The works are substantially complete and we understand that the County Council is undertaking a post-works safety review. This is not a process open to the public but we suggest that if you have any safety issues you should report them directly here.
Concerns have been raised about the slow operation of the roundabout at the bottom of Highworth Avenue and we understand that some changes have now been made to improve the cycle times of the traffic lights. However, rush hour congestion remains in the area on Milton Rd and for Arbury Rd traffic backing up from the lights at the Milton Rd junction. It has been suggested that the traffic lights do not need to be active 24/7. Jocelynne Scutt, (County Council Candidate) has suggested carrying out a trial of turning the traffic lights off on Sundays. There are different views about whether or not to conduct a trial of switching off the lights, and if so, when to conduct it. Some favour at peak times, others at night times or other off-peak times. Let us know what you think.
Other concerns raised include:
the lack of pay & display parking for the shops
the raised divisions between cycle paths and footpaths
